Apologies for Cross Posting [SSHL; WINE; NRA; LIS-rarebooks]
Dear All
As part of recent cataloguing projects we have identified 46 boxes of
duplicate or out of scope printed items which we are now offering to
other institutions. We mainly collect on women in the UK, and our 'out
of scope' material falls outside this area. In this particular project
'out of scope' mainly comprises government publications and pamphlets.
Strong areas covered include pamplets, periodicals, 'grey' lterature
often found in archives rather than libraries, women's liberation
movement, material from our Josephine Butler collections, health,
sexuality, but also government statistics and publications. Many of
these are of interest to archives and specialist libraries.
[Please note, this list was circulated to some key partners ahead of
sending this message.]
1) Please forward to the appropriate colleague if you are not the main
point of contact
2) If you want a copy of the lists please contact Pat Walters
[log in to unmask]
3) Read throught the lists and identify anything of interest - items
already given away have been highlighted
4) Contact Pat Walters [log in to unmask] with details
of which items you require (please include all the details given in the
list, espcially the box number of any items wanted!)
5) We are offering the material for free - however we are asking
institutions to cover the cost of postage
We will be prioritising deposits with collections that are permanent,
freely accessible to the public, and which already have strong
collections in these areas, that might need to have gaps filled.
Please contact Pat Walters with any questions you might have
I hope you find some gems in here!
Best Wishes
Teresa Doherty
