This is a workshop for those working in policy and public affairs including sessions on parliament, reflecting on successful medical research campaigns and sharing experiences on how to engage parliamentarians and policy-makers. Everyone with all levels of experience is welcome to come and share their stories, past successes and disasters, questions, thoughts etc. - although this is being run by AMRC so many attendees will be from medical research charities, those outside the charity world are very welcome. Whitehouse Consulting provides the secretariat for several APPGs and will discuss some of the work he has undertaken for these groups.
How smaller charities can get 'in' on the act - Susan Walsh, Research Officer, Chronic Granulomatous Disorder Research Trust
Susan will reflect on her experiences coming from a smaller medical research charity of working with others to influence Parliamentarians.
