(COMPAS) present
Call for Papers: Oxford Migration Graduate Research Seminars Michaelmas
Term 2009
The Centre on Migration, Policy, and Society (COMPAS) and the Migration
Studies Society are pleased to announce the convening of an Oxford
Migration Graduate Student Seminar, a weekly afternoon forum for
graduate students from any department to present their migration-related
work.
We are currently seeking proposals for the seminar series in Michaelmas
Term (Autumn 2009), which is likely to be held every Monday during
lunchtime. If you are interested in presenting, please send an abstract
(max 200 words) of your proposed presentation to [log in to unmask]
by Monday, July 6, 2009. A one-page outline of your dissertation is
optional.
This is an excellent opportunity to receive cross-disciplinary feedback
and to meet with research fellows and senior scholars at Oxford. We
welcome research at any stage of the dissertation process (including
research designs and chapter presentations) and on any subject related
to migration or forced migration. Proposals from outside the University
are welcome, although we regret that we cannot provide funding for your
visit.
The Centre on Migration, Policy, and Society is a research centre at the
University of Oxford which conducts high quality research on
contemporary and future migration dynamics. The Migration Studies
Society at Oxford seeks to connect migration scholars through organizing
forums for resource and information-sharing, research support,
cross-discipline dialogue, and socializing.
If you would like to be added to the mailing list for the seminar or be
informed about future related events, please email [log in to unmask]
We look forward to receiving your proposals!
Best regards,
Tom Gaff, Sahana Ghosh, Stephanie Silverman, and Hiranthi Jayaweera
