Dear Youth Studies list members, I hope that you don't mind me circulating details of my new book which some of you may be interested in - for yourselves and your students.
Researching social change: qualitative approaches is a new book written by Julie McLeod and Rachel Thomson. The book brings together a series of essays mapping different ways of exploring temporality in personal and social worlds.
Part 1 'Remembering' focuses on memory work and oral/ life histories.
Part 2 'Being with' focuses on ethnography and qualitative longitudinal research.
Part 3 'Inheritance' focuses on intergenerational and revisiting research designs.
The chapters are illustrated with empirical examples taken mostly from youth and family/gender studies. The book is aimed at those engaged in research at any level. It is published by Sage at the price of £20.99, for further information see
