Thanks Craig, I enjoyed reading your talk which was so reminiscent of the
the kind of lessons I learnt in research.
Not knowing where to start in my ethnographic research into the community of
the Regents Park Estate In Camden I went to a local pub to reflect on how to
start.
With wondrous coincidence I struck up an interesting conversation with a man
in the pub. After an hour of discussion leading up to my request to
interview him as a local as a way in he revealed to me that he was not a
local resident, was just passing through and had never been in the area
before not even knowing what it was called.
That's research for you!
Best wishes
Ian Milne
Currently conducting research in Burgundy with wine growers in their local
bar and still getting it wrong.
