Dear Marina,
For a range of climate change videos produced by secondary school students
(and for secondary school students) take a look the Climate Change Explorer
website: www.climatechangeexplorer.org.uk. You can also find a link to a
digital 'e-book' called 'As Seasons Change' produces by artist Lorraine Berry.
The Climate Change Explorer project has ended now, but the website should
still provide some useful resources.
To help you find things, check the following links:
* On the home page: links to 'Climate change ... is coming' and Cecil and the
Penguins videos. Also a link to 'As Seasons Change'
http://www.climatechangeexplorer.org.uk
* Some of the school students involved in this project have produced short
videos and other works. Use these link to find them:
http://www.climatechangeexplorer.org.uk/dowdalesschool
http://www.climatechangeexplorer.org.uk/blythcollege
http://www.climatechangeexplorer.org.uk/johnruskinschool
http://www.climatechangeexplorer.org.uk/mortimer
There's a links section that might be of value:
http://www.climatechangeexplorer.org.uk/usefullinks
You may spot a link called 'correspondents' on the schools page. It is broken,
but I think it should link to this:
http://www.pete-rogers.co.uk/climateRoot/database/see_world.html
produced by an earlier artist involved in the project. His description of the
work is:
'With the help of young people in workshops in locations all over the U.K. We
came up with a world map of climate correspondents findings inspired by the
very real risks scientists have discovered all around the world.' See Pete
Rogers' website here: http://www.pete-rogers.co.uk/artworks/artworks.html,
where there are links to some more works - some inspired by the CCE project -
(e.g. 'Climate Change (re)alignment therapy', 'Population growth' and 'ECN
sites over one year').
I hope this helps. I'd be interested to hear what you (and others) think of
these resources.
Oh, a final thought. Do you know about the South African Environmental
Observation Network (http://www.saeon.ac.za/)? They may be able to
provide useful information about climate change in southern Africa.
Regards
Andy
