Karin Pasche <[log in to unmask]> has asked me to post the following
message. Please send any replies to her, not to me.
It is our pleasure to announce the next Psi-k Summer School on
"Simulation Approaches to Molecular and Cell Biology". The school will
take place in San Sebastian (Spain), from 31 August to 5 September 2009.
This event is sponsored by the Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et
Moléculaire (CECAM) (http://www.cecam.org/), by the Donostia
International Physics Center (DIPC)
(http://dipc.ehu.es/dipc/Menu%20ing.htm) and by the ESF Network Progamme
SimBioMa (http://www.esf.org/index.php?id=1614).
The School's main goal is to present recent developments and
applications of biomolecular simulation approaches aimed at predicting
structure, dynamics and energetics of biomolecules. Aspects of
bioinformatics-based structural prediction algorithms will be also
presented.
Topics include:
° Simulation of rare events
° Prediction from first principles of spectroscopic and redox properties
of biomolecules
° Multi-scale and coarse grain modeling of large biomolecular aggregates
° Protein and nucleic acid structure prediction
° Critical analysis of the force fields used for biomolecular simulation
° Molecular simulation of cellular events
° Simulation in molecular medicine
Practical information
The conference is hosted by Miramar, a beautiful 19th century palace
build in an English country house style. It is surrounded by large
gardens, offering panoramic views of the bay. For more details about
Miramar, please visit the website http://www.sc.ehu.es/scrwwwsu/index.htm.
Full details, prices and registration forms can be found at the
following link http://www.sissa.it/sbp/SSSAPMCB
Financial support
Financial support will be provided for students applying from EU or any
CECAM country (Belgium - France - Germany - Italy - The Netherlands -
Spain - Switzerland - United Kingdom - Ireland). Applicants must
present a poster and should include an updated CV with two or more
letters of recommendation.
We hope you will join us in San Sebastian and please note that
participation is limited to 80 places, so inscribe at your earliest
convenience !
We look forward to hearing from you.
