Biological. psychological and social mechanisms in chronic
illness: problems of theory and method
*
*
Abstract: *In this paper consideration is given to the effects of the
simultaneous action/interaction of biological, psychological and
social mechanisms on the lives of adults with epilepsy. A critical
realist framework is deployed. The implications of this
'simultaneity' are discussed in relation both to theory-building and
methodological prescriptions.
