Sorry Nick - and apologies to the list! I made the old mistake of sending a reply to the list that was intended to go to the sender only. Wendy Sudbury

Dear Wendy,
Many thanks for your message. I have to say, though, that it isn't quite
the way you think. We have a very positive and productive relationship with MLA
and there really wasn't any arm-twisting involved. In fact, they have
continued to make a significant investment in our work in recent years and based
on my experiences in Europe and elsewhere, the UK is very fortunate to have a
strategic agency that has been willing to invest in Collections on an ongoing
basis in this way.
Our role, now that we have changed from MDA to the Collections Trust, is to
work with the sector to raise standards (both physical and digital), with the
ultimate aim of improving the quality and accessibility of collections for
users. This is an aim we very much share with MLA, and the development of our
remit to embrace the Digital agenda is something we have worked on together over
the past 12 months, taking our lead from their strategic direction. Further
information about this development is on our website at
http://www.collectionstrust.org.uk/digital.
These new posts are a really exciting opportunity to expand the range of
services and the value we can offer to the sector, and this expansion is part of
MLA's overall initiative to drive improvement. I'm really looking
forward to a strong field of candidates from the MCG community!
Best regards,
Nick

wrong place! Nick

dear Gordon. I saw this advert in the Journal with some pleasure. Well done
to Nick. He has succeeded in getting MLA to finally recognise (and presumably
fund) the wider remit for MDA. Wendy Sudbury
