Dear all,
What do you and your students think of this year's GCSE Chinese papers?
All my students think it is quite difficult. I do agree with them that
this year's papers are not easy, but not totally impossible to get
decent marks. The listening paper this year has some hard questions, but
generally, is testing a lot of basic vocabulary and structures. The
reading paper is definitely manageable, but requires some exam
techniques to get the answers right. I haven't seen the writing paper
yet, but it didn't seem to be easy according to a student of mine.
However, obviously, if the exam board is aiming to give us a hard paper
this year, surely the boundaries for each grade band will be much lower
than last year's?
I look forward to hearing your opinions.
Best regards,
Josh
