Hi all,
I'd like to ask other site admin that use torque as lrms what do they
do with the amount of mails that torque generates and are deferred, i.e:
n45FP5AP025661 149 Tue May 5 17:25 <[log in to unmask]>
(Deferred: Connection refused by ce05.pic.es.)
<[log in to unmask]>
[...]
n45FVB7X026219 173 Tue May 5 17:31 <[log in to unmask]>
(Deferred: Connection refused by td305.pic.es.)
<[log in to unmask]>
Total requests: 13916
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
When sendmail tries to deliver them, the load of our torque server is
really high (7 or 8) and torque/maui slows their response speed.
I don't have CE's mail configured and has no sense that those mails go
to ce, no one is going to read them and will move the problem to ces.
I regularly remove sendmail queue, but I'd like to have a definitive
solution with torque (if possible). I also asked torque list how to
disable mail notification on server side, but it's not possible, so, if
I want to modify destination (/dev/null), I should work with
torque_submit_filter... but then people who submit with qsub will stop
receiving mails, which is not desired, and the filter gets complex and
complex...
so, do I have to add a cron that stops sendmail and removes mqueue
and clientqueue dirs? Or use some sendmail script to remove queues?
any advice will be appreicated.
TIA,
Arnau
