Pete,
If this were Firefox that was slow I'd suggest using live HTTP headers,
sadly that is not the case here......
I use IE7 all the time and have not seen this behavior. I have done some
smoke test with IE8 and not seen it either.
I just tried going to through the WAYF to that IdP in IE7 and IE8 and saw no
slow down. However I did notice that
1) when I approached with IE7, it said that the server was wanting a client
cert.
2) This is a shib2 IdP. This means that you are going to be bouncing around
a fair amount with redirects - at least once from the WAYF to the IdP and
once from the SSO endpoint to the Login endpoint.
Either of these might cause some odd interaction with the browser and proxy
server.
What behavior do you get with other Shib2 IdPs picked from the WAYF or even
with wayfless URLs for that IdP?

Subject: Internet Explorer 8
I'm having trouble using the ukfull.wayf target.iay.org.uk test page. The
page loads but after selecting the organisation "Doncaster College
(Shibboleth - test)" the page takes forever trying to load but never
actually times out. The page doesn't clear but remains on the wayf.
I am using IE8 and ISA 2004 proxy. Even if I bypass the proxy I get the same
result.
IE7 is similar but clearing the cache and cookies etc seems to make it work.
The same PC using Firefox works really fast with or without the proxy login
page displays and authentication takes place etc.
Other PCs using IE6 work ok too.
Any thoughts anyone please?
(Apart from don't use IE7/8)
