I'm hoping to tap into people's knowledge and experiences of working with
DOIs. If I have posted this message on the wrong list - please excuse me;
this is my first posting.
From an Eprints perspective (sorry, I can't comment on DSpace etc), we have
been having problems today importing via DOIs.
Although the DOIs have been returning the correct publisher URLs in the DOI
resolver (http://dx.doi.org/), we get the following error message when using
the DOI to import metadata into Eprints:
Entity: line 7: parser error : Opening and ending tag mismatch: br line 4 and b?
ody
</body></html>
^
Entity: line 7: parser error : Opening and ending tag mismatch: body line 1 and?
html
</body></html>
^
Entity: line 8: parser error : Premature end of data in tag html line 1
The error suggests that CrossRef is exporting badly-formed data, but the
data appears to be correct using the CrossRef OpenURL server
(http://www.crossref.org/openurl).
I was wondering if anyone else has been having similar problems with DOIs
today? And perhaps more importantly, if anyone has any suggestions or solutions?
Thank you very much for any help you can give me with this.
