italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Salve, tutti!
I'm considering teaching The Leopard and some Verga stories in my
upper division Humanities class this fall. This would include students
from all majors -- Humanities, Business, the Sciences, and Social
Sciences.
Has anyone taught these texts to students who are neither Italian
majors nor literature majors? I'm optimistic, but wonder how these will
"teach." Also, do folks have other suggestions for 18th or 19th Century
readings that general readers would find accessible. Garibaldi's
memoirs or the Dumas bio?
Thanks for your kind advice, and all the best during this hectic
time of the semester. Ciao!
Arnold
