The Thai-Cambodian border crossings have casinos (illegal in Thailand), and the lives of gamblers, traders, local workers and residents there could be interesting.
There are several contested ancient Khmer temples along the border too... not only Preah Vihear (closed to the public since mid 2008), but Prasat Meaun Thom and some others. The park rangers at these could also make interesting subjects.
Thailand and Laos recently opened a train service form nong Khai to Tha Na Laeng across the Friendship bridge near Vientiane. They may not live in the border zone, but train drivers/conductors on the shuttle run across the bridge could have interesting tales to tell.

> My name is arie from Indonesia. I am developing a serial documentary film telling stories about people living in border zones. The following synopsis encapsulates the essence of the series:
>
>
> "The series explores some spots on the world map to see how
> people live in such places that are known as “The border zones”. In this series
> our inquisitive host travels from a spot to another to meet people and discover
> how could the borderline puts an impact to their habits, social life, culture and even economy. What are their truly fear living in such places that potentially
> upraises conflicts, or even the most exciting opportunities that maybe mostly
> both side of the people from the neighboring countries could not experience by
> living at the other parts of their country."
>
> One of the subject is the Indochina peninsula. Hope anyone in this list could help me figure out some interesting topics/stories for my preliminary research :)
