We had the same issue when upgrading our machines recently.
Are you still on PowerPC machines or Intel machines? For PowerPC
machines we had to find and download an older version of dcm2nii and
for Intel machines we had to find and download the latest version of
dcm2nii. Although they're supposed to be Universal or translated with
Rosetta, they don't work the same on either platform.
Let me know if you need copies of the old dcm2nii software
