Afternoon all,
I have an inert landfill site with rather high levels of methane coming out of
one of the boreholes (up to 24%). It has been suggested that this could be
due to hydrocarbon vapours (from a localised hotspot), and that we should
obtain gas samples to confirm. However, gas flow rates are fairly constant at
around 3 l/hr, and there have been low PID readings (taken from the
headspace of arisings) - could this be more indicative of gas rather than
hydrocarbons?
Thanks,
Mark (Dover DC)
