Hi Paul,
Your values of "will calculate as" should be a value between your grades scores.
When f.i. you have a grade score between 70 and 100% the value for "will calculate as" should between 70 en 100% and can't be less (like you did with 30%).
This holds for all score bands.
So when creating a score band the "will calculate as" value should lie between the upper and lower limit of that specific band.
For that reason the values in your second example have been accepted :-)
It also means that the "will calculate as" values can't be used a weighing factors.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards/Met vriendelijke groet,
Henk van Rijssen

Onderwerp: Grading Schema
Hi All,
I'm sure someone out there has encountered this before, so here I go...
I am trying to set up a Grade Schema based on 6 bands, so for example
I have created the rankings in the Grade Schema, however when I click submit
This occurs.
I understand from examples given in blackboard documentation that for a simple pass / fail criteria
Where 50-100 = Pass therefore is a 100% of the mark
Where less than 50 = Fail and is 0%
I created the 'default'
And this works fine, however I do not understand how the 'will calculate as' column works from this, how can a mark between 50 and 100 calculate as 75%, and a mark of between 0 and 50% = 25%? And how does this translate to grade thresholds
Blackboard documentation I found on this really does not go into the detail I need.
Thanks
Paul
