Permanent, full time, £27,600-£34,500 plus benefits.
Syngenta is one of the world's leading companies with 22,000 employees in over 90 countries dedicated to one purpose: bringing plant potential to life. We contribute to addressing some of the planet's most critical issues such as the rising demand for food from a growing population.
Our Biometrics Group advises on experimental design and provides statistical analysis for individuals and project groups within our Crop Protection, Biotech and Seeds businesses based in the UK, Switzerland, the USA and elsewhere. The main requirements of the role in question are to plan, conduct and report on the statistical analysis of key datasets arising from lab, glasshouse and field studies, delivering information of genuine value in an accurate, effective and timely manner. The projects you will be working on span a wide range of scientific disciplines and, as a consequence, the nature of the work is highly varied and technically challenging.
You will need a good degree in a maths-related subject plus an MSc or similar level qualification in statistics, together with an understanding of applied statistics relevant to agricultural research. You will need to be able to work accurately under pressure, and to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. A good working knowledge of SAS and a familiarity with biological processes are both desirable but not essential.
Jealott's Hill International Research Centre is situated in pleasant semi-rural surroundings between Bracknell and Maidenhead, and is the place of work for approximately 800 Syngenta scientists and support staff. Benefits include the opportunity to join the company's UK pension scheme, private health insurance and generous holiday entitlement.
