Below are details of a meeting of the Glasgow Group
of the Royal Statistical Society.
The speaker, Sir Kenneth Calman, is current chancellor
of Glasgow University and has been awarded an honorary
fellowship of the Society.
He was formerly Principal of Durham University and,
prior to this, Chief Medical Officer for England & Wales.
His talk will exploit his experiences in the latter post,
which of course is connected on the current issue
of swine flu.

Synopsis
The talk will focus mainly on health related risks, and consider the
problem of uncertainty, particularly in communicating with the public.
Examples will be chosen to illustrate some of the difficulties in this
field.
