UGI Lecturer in Statistical Genetics at UCL
An exciting, new opportunity is available in the Institute for Human
Genetics (UGI) at UCL. UGI is a centre for the research and teaching of
genetics which has particular focus in the areas of human population
diversity and common complex diseases. It is housed in UCL's Division of
Biosciences.
The position is a Lectureship in Statistical Genetics in the Division of
Biosciences.
The successful applicant will be expected to develop a research programme
with an international profile and to be successful in obtaining external
funding to develop a research group. The successful applicant will work with
the newly appointed Professor of Statistical Genetics, Professor David
Balding, to develop this area at UCL. The successful applicant will be
expected to develop a portfolio of collaborative projects as part of their
research programme.
The post is graded as Grade 8 (salary range £36,532 to £43,622, excluding
London Allowance of £2,781); starting salary will be dependent on successful
candidate’s skills and knowledge relevant to the post. Cost of living pay
awards are negotiated nationally and are normally effective from 1st August
each year.
