Hello
Here at Derby we have a staff and student disability consultation group which meet every term. The student group also has a few disabled representatives from the local community. We are aiming to expand this group in the future to be representative of all the different strands.
We also consult with our staff Race Equality Group, EDC, Unions, Disabled Co-ordinators Group and Sexual Orientation Group as part of the process for getting a policy or procedure approved.
We would also take any relevant policies out to local faith groups etc.
However, I am finding it hard to get this consultation to be meaningful - the staff and student consultation group is only attended by the same few people - it's hard to get people involved when they are so busy.
I would be interested in other people's responses.

I would be interested to how your institutions get the involvement of
staff and the wider community in the EIA process.
