Hard to find a metric that can assess an individual EM doc
The Yanks have complex performance indicators based on
their investigation usage in certain marker cases like
head injury
But these are all based on an IT system predicated on fee
for activity and of course the ED doc gets paid for
requesting and reporting things like CT
Can't see such a thing in the UK in the near future.
In the UK where we tend to work as a team, it is hard to
find a metric that measures an individual when the
department activity depends on the team working.
There are probably a number of negative ones like number
of personal complaints, but so many of these now are
because we did not do what the "customer" thought they
wanted!
