Hi Amanda
Just remember that the GP is always the provider of primary care.
However, your role will always be to support managers and employees in
the occupational setting. OH is always a 'sitting on the fence act'
because you have responsibilities to both your paymaster and your
patient. Be very clear that whatever course of action you take is
grounded in the principles of Occupational Health and not crossing the
boundaries into Primary Care. You best advice to deal with this HR
manager may well come from the RCN. I would advise you to contact their
OH specialist adviser.
