The MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics

This position is full time, 35 hours per week and is fixed term for a period of 5 years.
The Centre has recently been established and opened in April 2009 under the Directorship of
Professor Michael Owen. The overarching mission of the Centre is to use genetics and genomics to
inform our understanding of the aetiology, pathogenesis and classification of the major psychiatric
and neurodegenerative disorders, and to train a cadre of clinical and non-clinical scientists
capable of delivering the discovery and translational agenda.
The primary purpose of this role is to develop and deliver an innovative public engagement and
communications strategy and carry out empirical social science research in the field of
neuropsychiatric genetics.
