12-STEP AFTERCARE: DON'T JUST GIVE THEM A LIST; MAKE THE APPOINTMENT AND CHECK THEY GET THERE
Due to current interest in its findings, we've reached back to analyse this 2007 US study. It showed
that even in a largely 12-step oriented programme, persistent and practical efforts can strengthen
post-treatment 12-step group involvement and improve substance use outcomes. Though worthwhile,
impacts were modest and may not be replicated in countries such as the UK where 12-step philosophy
is less pervasive.
