I've finally managed to get a 'git clone git://' checked out and built
from scratch. Two problems were encountered:
1) I had to add:
# lpg1_tidy.lo - a libtool object file
# Generated by ltmain.sh - GNU libtool 1.5.18 (1.1.1.4 2005/07/21 14:39:23)
#
# Please DO NOT delete this file!
# It is necessary for linking the library.
# Name of the PIC object.
pic_object='.libs/lpg1_tidy.o'
to the top of libraries/kaplibs/lpg/lpg1_tidy.lo as I got 'not a valid
libtool file' errors without it.
2) In thirdparty/kitware/vtk/cmake/Bootstrap.cmk I had to add 'cmELF.o'
to the first 2 lines in the Makefile otherwise it wouldn't build the
cmake binary and the rest of vtk wouldn't build.
All this is on a Fedora 10 x86_64 system with gcc/gfortran 4.3.2.
Cheers,
TimL
