I would never disagree that this book is an excellent starting point
as much of what is contained in it was used ad a basis for the ANSI
Vital Records Standard but a strong caveat here...
Ginny is in the process of rewriting her book and the ANSI Standard is
past due for revision
There have Bern many lessons learned and disasters imapcting RM
practices that have occurred sincevthrse were published that should be
taken into consideration
The events if 9/11, the Cat5 storms in the US Gulf Coast region, some
major flooding in the US Midwest, regional power oitages, terrorist
attacks on other Nations, and neither publication sufficiently address
issues related to electronic forms of information well.
So whole these are a good starting point, keep in mind the guidance IS
dated.
