Sciencewise-ERC invites you to join the next of its free monthly 'Drop in for
Dialogue' sessions, which aim to help policy makers use public dialogue to
make better science and technology policy.
Date: Monday 27 April 2009
Time: 12 noon until 2.00 p.m. approx. (including lunch)
Where: Futurefocus, BERR, 1 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0ET
Part 1: Presentation: Carl Reynolds, one of the Sciencewise-ERC Dialogue
Engagement Specialists, will talk about the use of public dialogue in projects.
He will cover the approach to dialogue that Sciencewise-ERC advocates, link it
to the principles of good engagement and illustrate his talk with examples from
Sciencewise-ERC projects. Carl will also outline the differences between 'public
dialogue' and other methods of engagement, like Focus Groups.
Lunch: 1 p.m. to 1.30 p.m. approx.
Part 2: Facilitated discussion group: An opportunity for those considering or
delivering public dialogue processes on national policy to share challenges and
solutions with other policy makers and participation experts, including dialogue
experts and project managers.
20-minute mentoring sessions: One-to-one mentoring sessions will be available
with dialogue experts before and after the presentation and discussions, to
give you the opportunity to discuss policy issues and potential dialogue in
confidence.
Spaces for each Drop in for Dialogue are limited to 20 people, so book your
place here http://www.sciencewise-
