the others myself, though suspect HGL will not be at the top in a future
summing up of his oeuvre. Great versatility, as you suggest, Dom. I was at a
French film festival after TT came out and Leigh was there in person to
answer Qs: one would go "Mr Leigh, in ...you blah blah blah...do you...?",
proud of one's observation & insight, and he would go "Yes" or "I suppose
so" or " I don't know." Not very talkative, even after the film was made -
the other thing, not talking before it is done, seems obvious to me - or
does/would anyone here start talking to the media about a poem before
they've done it?

Males of my generation are supposed to like Naked, and despise Happy Go
Lucky (which I've not seen). Possibly a good thing about Leigh is his
