I was an early fan (back in the 70's) and reviewer of Nathaniel Whiting's work. He has these terrific poems about running throughout New York City and capturing so much with his eyes (while on the run). Practically a Reznikoff on speed! Both poets a strong influence on my writing from walking.
I am curious David as to your own interest in Whiting's work. Nathan (a thin, whisp of a guy as I remember him), his work certainly deserves a revisit.

Ironically enough, I will be at a private dinner with Nancy Pelosi this evening,
no kidding. She is third in line to the Presidency, so I think I will wait
until I get home to make the haptic for the day - I mean, ideally, it
should leave me with a buzz off of which to peddle my pens,
(Yes, of course, I will tell her to push for a special prosecutor for the torture folks)

I know Nathan Whiting, and frankly, he's no Nathan Whiting.
To be serious, I saw both of him last at Rochelle Ratner's memorial,
maybe a year ago. He seemed more fit than any of us deserve to be,
but decidedly not 38 years old. I don't have current contact info.
