Ah, I'd probably want to use the version I thought was best (& damn
the critics! etc.) but it might not be possible, given the fact that
one has to deal with the family, or whoever holds the rights.
As to the carefully edited scholarly edition, then include all
versions if only via footnotes or appendices.
