Working with the Press and PR Manager, you will help generate positive
press and media coverage by developing media contacts, to include
editors and journalists in the educational, cultural, library and
specialist press. You will have a PR or journalism qualification,
strong interpersonal, written and oral skills, as well as project
management skills. You should have experience of working with national
and regional journalists to turn technical or complex issues into
accessible and readable materials. Experience of the FE/HE sector
would be a distinct advantage as would knowledge of ICT and its use in
an educational context. This post is part of the Communications and
Marketing team based at the University of Bristol and offered on a
fixed-term contract until 31st July 2010. Regular travel to other JISC
offices, partners and activities across the UK will be required.
