Dear all,
Relevant to the latest M25 LT meeting on staff development, I have a favour
to ask.
I’m currently designing a workshop on ‘exciting things to do with the VLE’
for academics in our School of English and Drama. I’ve decided to focus on:
• text/voice discussions (synchronous and asynchronous)
• quizzes (MCQs, true/false questions etc)
• podcasting
And will concentrate on types of activities that lend themselves to blended
learning and promote skills they should be interested in - communication,
academic writing, critical thinking etc…
So, I was wondering whether any of you have examples of activities using
these (or other) tools in your various English / Drama departments that you
would be willing to share. I have some good examples from within our
institution, but people are always more interested in seeing what their
colleagues at other universities are doing, than those in say, Geography.
Many thanks in advance,
Stella
