ARTHRITIS RESEARCH CAMPAIGN NATIONAL PRIMARY CARE CENTRE
RESEARCH ASSISTANT: SYSTEMATIC REVIEW
(Two-Years Fixed Term)
Starting Salary: Grade 6a £27,182
We need a highly motivated Research Assistant to join a successful
team of researchers in the Arthritis Research Campaign National
Primary Care Centre at Keele University. The project is jointly funded
by the NIHR and arc. You will liaise with a series of Clinical Study
Groups organised by arc to conduct scoping reviews of previous and
current research undertaken on pain, arthritis and other
rheumatological conditions. Linking to the Centre’s NIHR-funded
programme of work, you will undertake systematic reviews of the best
available evidence evaluating the delivery of primary care for
osteoarthritis and spinal pain. The project will also include a review
of the outcome measures used to assess people with these conditions.
You will use your experience to support and advise others in
literature searching, using reference management software and
systematic reviewing methodology. As well as a series of reports to
the arc, you will contribute to writing up systematic and narrative
literature reviews for publication in peer-reviewed journals and
presenting the findings at conferences. You will possess a Good
honours degree in Social or Health Sciences, Information Science or
Statistics. You will have good communication skills, a degree in a
relevant subject, with knowledge and experience in literature
searching and critical appraisal.
