Do you want to learn about Web2.0? Would like to blog, but don't know
how? Ever wondered what a wiki really is? If so, you need to attend:
Web2.0 - Using Wikis, Blogs, Feeds, Podcasts and Social Networking for
Collabortion and Research
This brand new course will provide a basic overview and understanding of
Web2.0 tools such as blogs and wikis, and their use in research and
collaboration. Participants will gain an overview of current Web2.0
tools, from rss feeds to creating a blog, and will gain a basic working
knowledge of how to use them via extensive hands-on sessions
interspersed with short presentations. The day is designed to be
interactive with an emphasis on 'learning by doing'. Participants will
be well supported by course leader Andy Tattersall- an Information
Specialist and Web2.0 devotee, and Claire Beecroft- an Information
Specialist and Web2.0 convert!
By the end of the course students will be able to:
• Create their own blog and add their own content.
• Create a wiki and a basic Webpage.
• Use social networking tools for collaboration.
• Understand and use RSS feeds and podcasting.
• Create a personalised homepage
The course takes place on 19th May 2009 at ScHARR, University of
Sheffield from 9.30am to 4pm. This course is FREE to Yorkshire and
Humber NHS Staff.
All other bookings will be charged at £100 per person.
