Has anyone else out there launched a service where library users can text (SMS) a short question that is answered by library staff? We've just launched a "text a librarian" service and though I know it's been done in Australia & the US, I haven't really heard of it in the UK - I'd be really interested in knowing who else has introduced it and how you do it, so:
1) Do you use a "real" mobile or a web based portal?
2) Who answers the questions - is it done as a separate rota, or at the same time as staffing an existing enquiry service / point?
3) How long have you had a text based service?
Thanks,
Andrew Walsh
