For those relatively new to journals publishing, the course covers
everything from peer review to online delivery and provides attendees with a
clear understanding of how all the elements in this fast-paced area fit
together.
This is an action-packed workshop, divided into two parts. In the morning,
attendees will be given the task of starting a new journal. They'll decide
on the content, the format, and the staffing needs. They'll get submissions,
handle production, determine the budget, and plan the marketing. In the
afternoon, they'll learn how to sustain the high quality of their new
journal and ensure its continued success, working on distribution,
fulfilment, online hosting, pay-per-view options, and cutting-edge
developments in publishing.
