Subject: FW: UCML - consultation on REF
Dear Matthias,
Many thanks for this.
Yes, I had received the UCML document and yes, we have plans to discuss it at CUTG next week.
Elizabeth Andersen, with her UCML hat on, has been invited to join the discussions of the REF which feature on the revised agenda of the business meeting and which include a short presentation by Pol O'Dochartaigh, the representative for German Studies on HEFCE's so-called Expert Panel on the REF.
We do not intend to table the UCML document formally but it would be obviously no bad thing if colleagues perused it in advance, hence my circulating it now via the mail base.
It is intended that one of the outcomes of the discussions will be a formal, written response to UCML on behalf of CUTG.
I look forward to seeing you in Belfast
With best wishes,
Frank

Dear Frank
You have probably received this already - but just in case you haven't:
were you planning to raise this at CUTG?
Best wishes
Matthias

Dear colleagues
The UCML executive is seeking to canvas the views of subject
associations and colleagues across the sector on the REF and its
implications for Modern Languages. Attached to this message are a
series of questions. It would be helpful if these were discussed at
meetings of subject associations if they are being held over the Easter
vacation.
Please send any responses by email to the ucml email address
([log in to unmask])by 21 April. We will continue to inform plenary
members of developments arising from the consultation.
Thanks you for your help in this
Best wishes
Liz Hudswell (on behalf of the UCML exec)
