Hello everyone
You may be interested to know that the following course has been planned
for Berlin from Monday 21st September 2009 to Friday 25th September
(inclusive) 2009.
MIGRATION LEARNING IN EUROPEAN SCHOOLS - A PRACTICAL APPROACH:
using methods and materials on the topic of migration as part of
intercultural relations
COMENIUS COURSE REF: DE-2009-877-001
You can find full details by entering the course reference above on the
Comenius website at
http://ec.europa.eu/education/trainingdatabase/search.cfm
I also attach an outline of the proposed programme for the course.
A grant of up to 2000 euro may be available from the British Council in
London.
I have previously been able to access funding from the British Council
for a similar course a few years ago - There are references in their
eligibility criteria to Teacher trainers, to school education
professionals within local, regional and national education authorities,
and to school education professionals involved in intercultural
education or working with the children of migrant workers and
travellers.
The deadline for application for funding for this course is Thursday
30th April 2009. Since applications require an original signature I am
advised that they are not acceptable by e-mail. Application forms are
downloadable from
http://www.britishcouncil.org/comenius-applications-forms-and-guidance.h
tm
I had some involvement in the planning of the course, but am not the
official contact (this is Meike Jens in the University of Oldenburg -
contact details given on the Comenius website above). I'm willing to
help out with advice, Meike's contact details, etc if you are
interested.
