What is the voxel resolution of your DTI data, how many samples are you
using, how large is the ROI (in # of voxels)? There is no easy way to
parallelize probtrackx, beyond breaking the seed ROI into multiple parts.
fsl_sub is the interface between parallelizable FSL commands and the SGE
(Sun Grid Engine) parallelization software.
Peace,
Matt.

Subject: [FSL] probabilistic fiber tracking
Dear Experts
I am running FSL FDT PROBTRACKX (probabilistic fiber
tracking)
tool box. My 4D volumes contains 219*219*44*22 (X,Y,Z,b). Currently I am
running it for all the voxels using "single mask" and all the other
parameters are
defaults. It has been five days it is still on the 17 th slice and 27 to go.
It is
taking awful lot of time. Is this normal? My PC is an Intel Xeon 64bit
2.4GHz
quad-core with 8GB memory and with RedHat Linux. I also noticed that even if
the PC has 4 cores the program only uses one. Is there any way to
parallelize
this so that the program use at least three cores simultaneously (Assuming
it
will run faster)? What is the use of fsl_sub command? Can I use fsl_sub
command for this purpose? If so How? Appreciate if any one can help me with
this.
Thanks
Indika
