John Redmond will read at Wurm im Apfel at 8pm on Wednesday.
John Redmond grew up in Dublin, then moved to England to take a D.
Phil at Oxford. After two years in Minnesota he now lectures at
Liverpool University. His first book of poems, 'Thumb's Width', was
longlisted for The Guardian First Book Award in 2001. His second book
of poems, 'MUDe', came out from Carcanet last year. He is also the
author of a Creative Writing treatise, 'How to Write a
Poem' (Blackwell, 2005), and the editor of a poetry magazine, 'Gallous'.
The reading will be followed by an Open Mic. We will be grateful if no
one reads any poems as dreadful as those read at the last Open Mic.
Thank you.
This event will be hosted by Wurm im Apfel and Poetry Ireland at The
Sycamore Club, 9 Sycamore Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, at 8pm on
Wednesday 15th April. More details on the Wurm site, http://wurmimapfel.com/
. A recording of the event should appear there by the weekend.
Wet refreshments will be provided.
