Are you an accomplished Post doctoral Statistician looking to join a Top
Academic Research Organisation?
A leading institute based in the South West is currently seeking a Statistician
with previous work experience within academia, or candidates who have
recently completed a PHD. This excellent role would be ideal for an
enthusiastic Statistician with previous experience of genetics or a closely
related field with an interest in developing research proposals.
As the Statistician you will be responsible for the determination and
application of approached statistical methods in order to analyse genetic
studies. You will be given the opportunity to write methodological research
papers, contribute to both ongoing studies and the design/analysis of new
projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
•Conduct statistical analyses
•Implement and Develop appropriate statistical methodology for the analysis of
genetic data.
•Ai in the development and definition of study questions with investigators.
•Take part in the development of study protocols, particularly with reference
to statistical considerations of sample size and analysis strategy.
•Oversee databases.
•To prepare and write papers for conference presentation and submission to
peer- reviewed journals.
•To present work at conferences and participate in internal meetings.
•To advise and train other researchers in the use of advanced statistical
methods.
•To participate in the supervision of students and other staff as appropriate.
To keep up to date with the relevant literature
Successful candidates should ideally have a PHD in Statistics or an allied
Subject. Previous experience in genetic epidemiology/bioinformatics is a huge
advantage. Your technical skills should include; strong experience with
Statistical Analysis software (e.g. STATA, S-plus, R) and proficiency in one or
more core programming language is desirable.
