Dear Yannis,
searching through MathWorks' support, I can see two things that you
might want to try:
* add symbolic links to libGL.so and libGLU.so:

* install the 64bit xorg-x11-Mesa-libGLU package on your system:
http://www.mathworks.com/support/solutions/data/1-8MN33N.html?solution=1-8MN33N
Also, I would be curious to know if SPM8 works directly with your
platform, as the 64bit Linux MEX files were compiled on different
systems in SPM5 and SPM8.
