Business Plans: how to produce a workable and convincing business plan - a half day course
3 June 2009 (pm), at Bonhill House, London
Programme Features
A well-conceived business plan is a powerful aid to achieving better results, not only in the commercial world, but in any other field of activity. Unfortunately many plans are marred by a lack of realism, the failure to build in contingency measures to cope with different future situations and the absence or inadequacy of vital elements. This course will explain the soundly established principles for devising a plan that works whether it is one page in length or far more complex. Another common cause of failure is poor construction and presentation of otherwise viable plans and so the course also shows how to produce ones that will compel attention and acceptance.
Why you should attend:
This course is for
anyone making a case for receiving resources from others whether they:
are someone who hopes to launch a business
have an existing one they want to expand
serve as the manager of a unit within a private, public or voluntary sector organisation seeking to justify their future allocation of resources
or intend to argue for an increase in these
managers wishing to escape from frequent bouts of short term ‘fire-fighting’ that fail to solve ongoing problems
people who feel their business or organisation needs a systematic review – instead of always ‘muddling through’ - to clarify its goals, uncover its characteristic strengths and weaknesses and improve its performance
those seeking to identify and exploit new opportunities for their business or organisation
planners well able to handle qualitative aspects of their plans, but lacking basic grounding in financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting
On completing this course:
you will be confident that all key elements have been included in your business plans, while superfluous material is screened out
common pitfalls in compiling and implementing a plan should no longer pose a threat
the credibility and persuasiveness of your plans will be enhanced
financial aspects of planning should be less daunting
ways of anticipating and meeting changes in circumstances will be habitually incorporated into plans you write
the effective future tracking and refining of them should be much easier
