If my memory serves me correctly it's £4,000 for 5000 users. If you want more information, this man is the UK contact - very helpful!

Hi Malina

It's a relatively new (well developed!) product from eLearning Force
http://www.sharepointlms.com/ offering SP functionality in a way that
has been customised especially for education. It's the best thing I've
seen for a long time! The features are exactly what we've been looking
for for a long time and our work at the moment is setting up sites for
every subject in the college (and then subsites for each qualification
that subject offers) and skinning it to make it look super sleek!

Cheers

Liz

Hi Liz

The sharepoint LMS you mentioned is a well developed vle product by
someone or just the platform JISC's recommendation to be used to build
vle?

If it is a product, who developed it?

Thanks

Hi Asher

It's all about SharePoint!

SharePoint LMS is the best thing we found... don't fall into the trap of
just doing Moodle because everyone else is... it's so naughties!

Will chat more if you're interested

Liz

Subject: [VLES] FE College VLE - Which to choose?

Hello all,

I work at an FE college and am the VLE/ILT Specialist. We are currently
using DigitalBrain as our VLE, but it really isn't suitable as it's
designed
primarily for secondary and primary schools.

We have only had it a year and we are seriously considering changing it
because it just doesn't do what we need it to.

I was wondering what VLEs other FE colleges use, why, and what
experiences
people have had with them? The main issue is that although I run the
college's VLE, it is me and only me who does so, and I don't have a lot
of
in depth knowledge of programming such as mySQL, php etc so would
probably
find it difficult to run something like Moodle. On Google i've found
that
most college's seem to be using Moodle, and I have been asked to
investigate
that as well as Blackboard.

What would people suggest and why?

Thanks
Asher Francis
