The Institute for Transport Studies (ITS) at the University of Leeds, invites applications for three further postgraduate studentships, which will fund Masters/PhD study from September 2009.
The first studentship is to support PhD research in 'Intelligent Transport and the Digital Economy'.
Funded by EPSRC, applicants should have an interest in developing research in one of the following areas: benefits and impacts of intelligent transport; enhanced methodologies; harmonised and integrated digital systems; needs of travellers and vulnerable users
Closing date for applications: 3rd April 2009
Two ESRC '1+3' studentships are also offered. Each will fund either a Masters degree followed by a PhD (1+3) OR a PhD (+3).
The Masters programmes supported by these studentships are MA Transport Economics or MSc Transport Planning and the Environment. There is scope to develop a number of research interests within the PhD, but this should align with ESRC themes.
Closing date for applications: 9th March 2009
The value of each studentship is £GBP 13,290 p.a tax free plus tuition fee payment (UK domiciled candidates).
EU candidates can also apply but are eligible for awards of tuition fee payment only.
