Hi,
My name is Benny Lau, currently studying a Master of Sustainable
Design course in Middlesex University in London. Before that, I have
been doing visual and product design for years. In recently years, I
paid more attention on how doing design without conflict to our human
well being. I've done campaign with a lot of NGO, created products
from factory residue, initiated public action to create awareness on
public space and social caring. i.e. set up booth on the street to
help peoples writing letters and postcard. As a way to reconnect
peoples with peoples, both in tangible communication and in the public
space.
I believe design could make a better change, by really meaningful
practice and theory. When I go back Hong Kong, I'll try to bring the
sustainable perspective to more design students, and also to the
general users through my works.
And lastly, I wanna say a big thanks to Ann. Your book saved me from a
lot of confusion and frustration in the beginning of pursuing this
subject. And now, reading the discussion and the Design Activism blog
is my weekly delight.
Cheers
Benny
