The only conclusion I could seem to reach was that the USA spends 1/3 (at
least) more per capita on health provision, in order to die 1-2 years
earlier than the median for the UK.
This may be skewed by the fact that childbirth deaths in the US are
horrendously higher (by about a third) than any other OECD country.
Go figure.
