Dear Colleagues,
Within the OR51 conference
http://www.orsoc.org.uk/orshop/orcontent.aspx?inc=or51_main.htm
at the University of Warwick (8th-10th of September, 2009), we are organising the meta-heuristics
stream
http://www.orsoc.org.uk/orshop/orcontent.aspx?inc=or51_Meta-heuristics.htm
The stream definition is copied below.
We are seeking contributions, which generally consist of an abstract of 100-250 words and then an
associated talk of about 30 minutes. The web page for the submissions is
http://www.orsoc.org.uk/conference/papersubmission/conference_submit.asp?cid=25
Please select "Meta-heuristics ( MET )" option as the "Suggested Stream".
Also, ignore where it says "paper" and treat it as saying "presentation" (so it just needs long and
short forms of the title of your presentation, and the abstract.)
Please submit, or let us know you are interested, by mid April.
If you have any questions or queries about whether a potential topic might be suitable then please
do not hesitate to contact us. Also, please feel free to pass this email onto other colleagues that
you know who might be interested in attending this stream.
Best wishes,
Ender Ozcan and Andrew Parkes

Stream Definition
------------------
We invite abstracts and presentations, either theory or practice-oriented, that discuss any of the
issues of:
- Meta-heuristics
- Hyper-heuristics
- Developing the analytical or theoretical understanding of (meta/hyper-)heuristics.
We are particularly interested in:
- Analyses that lead to some insight into the behaviour of one or more meta-heuristics. For
example, but not limited to, landscape analysis, stochastic analysis methods or modelling.
- Methods that allow a more general use of meta-heuristics and heuristics. For example,
hyper-heuristics, adaptive search control systems, etc.
